1 Killed in Oroville Car Crash at Highway 162 and Midway
OROVILLE, CA (February 12, 2021) – A car crash killed at least one person at Highway 162 and Midway in Oroville.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the tragic accident occurred on Friday night. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8:30 p.m.
CHP said a GMC pickup and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed at the intersection of Highway 162 and Midway.
Several People Injured in Oroville Collision Friday
The truck sustained major front-end damage upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision.
Actions News Now wrote that seven people were involved in the incident. Four of them needed medical treatment, including some who required extrication.
The names of the deceased and wounded victims remain unreleased. Meanwhile, officials forced the road to shut down for three hours and a half following the crash.
The cause of the fatal collision is under investigation.
