Oscar Mendoza, 24, Killed, Woman Injured in Fontana Car Crash

Fontana car accidentFONTANA, California (May 16, 2016) — Oscar Mendoza, 24, was killed and his passenger was critically injured early Saturday morning when their car crashed into a power pole at the intersection of Juniper and San Bernardino avenues, according to the Fontana Herald News and On Scene TV.

The crash took place about 12:39 a.m. when Mendoza was allegedly speeding and lost control of the gold 2005 Mercury Montego in the 16600 block of San Bernardino Avenue.

The Fontana Police Department and paramedics with the San Bernardino County Fire Department responded to the scene and reported that Mendoza had died upon their arrival. The female passenger was ejected in the crash and rushed to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries.

The crash is under investigation to determine whether alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.
