Bicycle Rider Killed in Highland Crash is Identified
HIGHLAND, Calif. (May 17, 2022) — Oscar Palacios, 34, of San Bernardino, died in a bicycle accident at Palm Avenue and 5th Street in Highland.
The crash occurred about 11:47 p.m. on Friday, May 13th at the intersection, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner. It’s unknown at this time what led up to the collision between a bicyclist and another motorist.
Deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to the intersection.
The cyclist suffered major injuries in the collision. Paramedics rushed him by ambulance to Loma Linda University Medical Center.
The next morning, at 9:09 a.m. on Saturday, May 14th, Oscar Palacios died at the hospital.
Investigators with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department are working on the case and will determine fault for the collision.
