Head-on Collision at Intersection in Ventura County
OXNARD, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2024) — An Oxnard car accident happened Friday afternoon at Central Avenue and Vineyard Avenue in Ventura County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at 1:15 p.m. on Sept. 6th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a driver in a white Kia SUV was allegedly driving recklessly and drove through a red traffic light. The vehicle collided head-on with the Ford Edge SUV.
Both vehicles suffered major front-end damage in the collision.
The Ventura County Fire Department responded to help the woman from the Kia who was injured, but it’s unknown if anyone was hospitalized.
Authorities stated in the CHP report the at-fault driver could possibly be driving under the influence, but that was not confirmed, the report said.
The cause of the Oxnard accident on Central Avenue remains under investigation.
