Bicyclist, 49, Killed in Oxnard Crash on Statham Boulevard
OXNARD (April 26, 2020) – A traffic collision along Statham Boulevard killed a bicyclist early Sunday morning.
According to The Ventura County Star and KVTA News, officers reported the accident at around 4:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of Statham Boulevard.
Police said a 49-year-old Oxnard man was riding a bicycle when for an unknown reason a 2017 Honda Civic traveling north on Statham struck him.

Paramedics responded to the site and pronounced the cyclist dead at the scene. The area where the crash occurred is in an industrial area between Oxnard and Channel Islands boulevards.
The name of the deceased rider has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 43-year-old Oxnard man driving the car did not suffer any injury upon impact.
The motorist reportedly stopped following the incident and cooperated with the officers. The cause of the tragic accident remains under investigation.
