Bicycle Rider Killed in Oxnard Crash at Saviers Road and Glacier Avenue
OXNARD, CA (September 20, 2022) – A crash killed a bicycle rider at Saviers Road and Glacier Avenue in Oxnard.
According to The Ventura County Star and KVTA News, the tragic accident took place on Monday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 7:40 p.m.
The incident happened on September 19 when a male bicycle rider was crossing westbound Saviers Road toward Glacier Avenue in the city. At the same time, a 2005 Ford F-150 was going south.
Oxnard police said for an unknown reason, the pickup truck hit him in the intersection.
Bicyclist Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then found the bicyclist down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the accident.
Medical personnel rushed the victim to a hospital, where he soon died. The name of the deceased cyclist has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police added that the driver of the car stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced the area of Saviers and Glacier to shut down for a time after the wreck.
