1 Killed, 1 Injured in Crash on Highway 101 Near Oxnard Boulevard
OXNARD, CA (June 24, 2022) – A car crash on Highway 101 near Oxnard Boulevard killed one person and injured another in Oxnard.
According to an article published by The Ventura County Star, the tragic accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 1:47 p.m.
The incident happened when three vehicles were traveling in the left lane of northbound Highway 101, just north of Oxnard Boulevard. For an unknown reason, the traffic in the area began to slow.
A 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 truck failed to stop in time. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the Chevrolet collided with a 2011 Ford F250 pickup in front of her.
Multiple Cars Collide
A BMW 750I ahead of the Ford then became involved in the collision. The 61-year-old Ventura woman driving the Silverado died as a result of the wreck.
The driver of the Ford, a 53-year-old Ventura man, survived the incident with minor injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
CHP added that the motorist in the BMW, a 75-year-old Camarillo man, ended up unharmed. Meanwhile, the cause of the fatal crash is still under investigation.
Officers forced the left two lanes of Highway 101 to shut down for a time near Oxnard Boulevard following the accident.
