Pedestrian Killed in Oxnard Crash on Pacific Coast Highway Near Raytheon
OXNARD, CA (September 19, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash on Pacific Coast Highway and Raytheon Road in Oxnard.
The California Highway Patrol dispatch team said the tragic accident took place late Sunday night. Officers reported the incident at about 11:18 p.m.
CHP said a vehicle struck the pedestrian for an unknown reason in Oxnard. The car hit the person on northbound Pacific Coast Highway at the Raytheon Road off-ramp.
Victim Hit by Car
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, just south of Hueneme Road. They confirmed that the victim died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Officers did not mention if the driver stopped and stayed at the site after hitting the person.
CHP forced the northbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway to shut down for a time following the fatal crash. The cause of the Oxnard pedestrian collision is still under investigation.
