Pedestrian, 76, Killed in Oxnard Crash Near Ventura Road and Bay Boulevard
OXNARD, CA (August 27, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed after a crash at Ventura Road and Bay Boulevard in Oxnard.
The Ventura County Star and KEYT News wrote the tragic accident took place early Friday. Officers reported the collision at about 3:55 a.m.
The incident began when a 2018 Ford Mustang was going south on Ventura Road, approaching the Bay Boulevard intersection, in Oxnard. At the same time, a male pedestrian was walking westbound at Bay.
Police said for an unknown reason, the car then struck the 76-year-old Oxnard man in the south crosswalk. The accident occurred north of Channel Islands Boulevard.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim who sustained severe injuries as a result of the crash. They soon pronounced him dead at the scene.
The name of the deceased party remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 20-year-old Oxnard man driving the Mustang left following the collision.
He later returned to the crash site and cooperated with the authorities. Officers shut down Ventura Road between Bay Boulevard and Channel Islands in both directions for several hours after the accident.
The fatal Oxnard pedestrian collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at 805-385-7750.
