Oxnard Car Accident
OXNARD, Calif. (MAY 7, 2014) — At least one person is dead Wednesday morning after a driver of a white Ford Focus crashed into a pole and sheared it off at the intersection of E. Hueneme and Wood roads, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 4:57 a.m., CHP officers and Ventura County Fire Department emergency workers responded to the single-vehicle car accident at the intersection, however, at least one person in the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The number of people in the vehicle was not disclosed.
The Ventura County Coroner was called to report to the crash site and the eastbound lanes of Hueneme Road was closed at Wood Road so police could conduct an investigation into what happened. The road is expected to remain closed most of the day so the Edison can replace the power pole.
Airport Chevron Towing removed the Ford Focus with major front-end damage from the scene of the crash.
“Police will investigate this collision to determine what led to the crash and who is liabie,” said Attorney James Johnson. “The police report will provide details about what exactly happened and who is responsible based on interviews with witnesses as well as evidence collected at the scene.”
