OXNARD (June 24, 2016)- According to the Ventura County Star, a bicyclist identified as Gregory Dominguez, 42, was killed in a hit-and-run collision Friday morning at the 1700 block of Lakehurst Street.
Dominguez was struck at roughly 7:12 a.m. as a witness described him being ejected from the bicycle and thrown approximately 15-20 feet. She also added that his bicycle was completely mangled.
The suspected driver collided with a tree after the initial collision and immediately exited the vehicle and took off running.
Per the Ventura County Star, Gregory Dominguez sadly did not survive the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Per witness Kathleen Gransee, the neighborhood has long expressed their frustration with drivers driving recklessly especially along Lakehurst Street, the article added.
Police officials have arrested the hit-and-run suspect who is being described as a 17-year old teenager.
