1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Crash on Highway 101 Near Oxnard Boulevard
OXNARD, CA (November 11, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash on Highway 101 in Oxnard.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident happened on Thursday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly before 9:30 a.m.
CHP said a black Jeep and another vehicle collided for an unknown reason. The two crashed on northbound Highway 101, just south of Oxnard Boulevard.
2 Vehicles Collide
The Jeep hit the center divider, went off the road and then rolled over in a ditch. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
Medical personnel found an occupant of the Jeep who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision. They then took the victim to the St. John’s Hospital Camarillo for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the other driver did not stop to render aid and fled the area.
Officers forced the northbound lanes of Highway 101 to shut down following the wreck. The cause of the Oxnard hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
