OXNARD, California (February 26, 2017) – One was hospitalized after a suspected hit-and-run crash in the Nyeland Acres neighborhood on Friday afternoon, according to Ventura County Star.
The accident was reported at 4:09 p.m. near the intersection of Santa Clara Avenue and Eucalyptus Drive.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol did not specify how many cars were involved although they said one driver fled the scene.
The suspect vehicle was described as a white pickup which sustained front-end damage in the collision. It was last seen traveling south on Santa Clara Avenue headed toward nearby Oxnard.
Ventura County Fire Department officials responded to the scene and transported one person to St. John’s Regional Medical Center with unspecified injuries. The name of the victim was not immediately released.
Authorities are gathering more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run motorist.
