Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Pacific Beach Crash at Grand and Fanuel
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 27, 2022) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured after a crash at Grand Avenue and Fanuel Street in Pacific Beach.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the accident took place on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:35 p.m.
The incident happened when a 51-year-old man was riding a motorcycle north on Fanuel Street, approaching Grand Avenue, in the Pacific Beach neighborhood.
At the same time, a Ford Mustang was going south. San Diego police said the car then tried tried to make a left turn onto Grand and violated the right of way of the rider.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
In the process, the Mustang turned into the path of the motorcyclist and collided with him. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene.
The victim sustained serious injuries, including multiple fractures, as a result of the collision. Medical personnel took him to a hospital for treatment.
The reports did not disclose the name of the wounded patient and his condition at this time. Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 31-year-old man driving the car ended up unharmed.
Officers forced the area of Grand and Fanuel to shut down for more than four hours following the wreck. The cause of the Pacific Beach crash is still under investigation.
