Driver Hits Pedestrian on Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach
PACIFIC BEACH, Calif. (Oct. 22, 2021) — A Pacific Beach pedestrian accident left a 24-year-old man with life-threatening injuries Thursday night when a driver struck the man on Garnet Avenue.
A motorist struck the young man about 8:45 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21st, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Authorities believe the man attempted to run across Garnet Avenue between Fanuel and Gresham streets, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.
The pedestrian ran from the north side of Garnet Avenue to the south side, but an eastbound 2008 Toyota Solara struck him before he could make it across all the way.
The Pacific Beach pedestrian accident left the man with severe head trauma. Paramedics responded and rushed him by ambulance to a hospital, police said.
Meanwhile, the 61-year-old driver in the Toyota stopped and cooperated with the investigation.
Police did not mention any other injuries from the collision.
