Man, 25, Hit and Badly Injured by Vehicle on Garnet Near Haines Street

DATE OF ACCIDENT: Friday, October 12th
October 12, 2018 – A 25-year-old man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident early Friday on Garnet Avenue.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the pedestrian stepped into Garnet Avenue from the south curb to meet his Uber ride about 2 a.m.
For reasons still under investigation, the man was struck by an Infiniti that was traveling westbound on Garnet.

Paramedics responded in the in the 1400 block of Garnet, near Haines Street, and immediately rendered aid to the pedestrian who suffered injuries in the collision. As per the article, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious trauma including a head injury.
Meanwhile, officials mentioned the Infiniti driver was unharmed in the collision, but the vehicle sustained significant damage to its bumper and windshield.
The detectives handling the case continue to determine liability in the accident.
