Bicyclist Seriously Injured in Pacifica Hit-and-Run on Skyline Boulevard Near Sharp Park
PACIFICA, CA (November 1, 2021) – A bicyclist was seriously injured after a hit-and-run crash on Skyline Boulevard in Pacifica.
According to The Mercury News and KRON 4 News, the accident took place on Sunday evening. Officers reported the collision at about 6:50 p.m.
The incident happened on October 31 when the bicycle rider was traveling north along the shoulder of Skyline Boulevard in Pacifica.
Police said for an unknown reason, a passing vehicle struck the cyclist from behind. The driver hit the cyclist near Sharp Park Road.
Driver Hits Rider, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and found the rider down on the ground. The victim sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not disclose the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and then fled the area. Officers forced a stretch of Skyline Boulevard to shut down following the wreck.
