At Least 1 Killed in Traffic Collision on Cabrillo Highway Wednesday
Pacifica, CA (September 15, 2021) – A fatal car accident occurred Wednesday afternoon on State Route 1, also known as Cabrillo Highway.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch, a vehicle veered off the roadway for an unknown reason. The crash took place near the Cabrillo Highway tunnel in Pacifica.
Primary reports indicated the black vehicle rolled down the steep cliff along the freeway. The car came to a rest flipped back on its wheels on the beach.
Shortly after 2:20 p.m., rescue teams arrived at the location. First responders reportedly found a female party trapped in the wreckage. Firefighters at the scene worked extensively to extricate the victim.
Deadly Car Accident in Pacifica, September 15
The CHP log later mentioned one person sadly died as a result of the collision. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Additional details on the unfortunate event have not been revealed thus far. Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon to investigate the precise cause of the deadly car accident in Pacifica.
