1 Seriously Injured in Paicines Crash on Highway 25 Near Old Airline
SAN BENITO COUNTY, CA (October 10, 2021) – At least one was seriously injured after a head-on crash on Highway 25 near Old Airline Highway in Paicines.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, the accident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 3:53 p.m.
The incident began when a tan Toyota Minivan tried to pass another vehicle and drifted into the opposite lane. The van then slammed head-on into a gray Infiniti sedan.
CHP said the two vehicles crashed on northbound Highway 25, two miles south of Old Airline Highway, in the Paicines community.
2 Vehicles Collide Head-On
The minivan obtained major front-end damage while the sedan came to a rest with major left side damage. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene, a mile south of Live Oak Road.
They found one person who sustained major injuries as a result of the collision. Medical personnel then rushed the wounded party to a hospital for treatment.
The report did not disclose the name of the patient and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 25 to shut down following the wreck.
The cause of the Paicines car crash is still under investigation.
