Passenger Killed in Car Accident on SR-76 Saturday
PALA MESA, Ca (May 31, 2020) – One person died following an alleged DUI traffic collision on Highway 76 Saturday, the FOX5 News reported.
Preliminary investigation revealed 53-year-old Juan Hart was at the wheel of a 2006 Infiniti G35 traveling west on SR-76. When the vehicle approached the area near Pala Del Norte, Hart allowed the Infiniti to cross the double yellow lines and veer into oncoming traffic.
Officials mentioned Hart attempted to pass another vehicle. In the process, Hart lost control and slid into the embankment that borders the north side of the roadway and overturned.
Shortly after 11 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the scene and found the passenger partially ejected from the wreckage. Paramedics reportedly rushed the seriously injured passenger to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where they later sadly died.
The identity of the deceased remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, authorities mentioned Hart sustained major injuries but is expected to survive. Police later arrested the driver suspicion of driving under the influence.
