PALM DESERT, California (July 23, 2015) — Three people were injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision involving two drivers on Highway 74 at Silver Spur Road, a report by the Riverside County Fire Department said.

The crash was reported to police and firefighters at 2:05 p.m. One person was trapped in the wreckage and had to be cut out of the vehicle. They suffered moderate injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment. Two others suffered minor injuries and were also take to a local hospital to be care for by doctors.

Police closed down the southbound lanes of Highway 74 due to the crash. An investigation is underway into the cause of the accident.
