1 Injured in Palm Desert Crash Near Washington Street and Varner Road
PALM DESERT, CA (December 25, 2021) – One was hospitalized after a car crash near Washington Street and Varner Road in Palm Desert.
The California Highway Patrol first logged the incident on Saturday morning. According to their dispatch, officers reported the wreck at about 9:29 a.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed in Palm Desert. CHP said the speeding driver then ran a red light at the intersection of Washington Street and Varner Road.
Speeding Driver Hits Another Car
In the process, the car struck another vehicle. The report described the cars involved as a white Ford Focus and a white Nissan Altima.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Interstate 10 Freeway. They found one person who sustained minor injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then took the patient to a hospital for treatment. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the area of Washington Street and Varner Road to shut down following the wreck. The Palm Desert crash is still under investigation.
