PALM DESERT: DUI Driver Arrested Following 2 Crashes at Varner Road, Country Club Drive

pds16-0322-SusanMcCollumPALM DESERT, California (March 23, 2016) — Susan McCollum, 60, of Indio was arrested on DUI charges following two separate traffic accidents Tuesday night, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.

The Palm Desert Police Department reported that McCollum was stopped at Country Club Drive and Harris Lane when she reversed into another vehicle behind her in the first collision. She then collided with a second driver on Varner Road at Jefferson Street.

Police arrived at the scene of the second crash about 10 p.m. and suspected she was driving under the influence of alcohol. She was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio after first being taken to a local hospital to check for injuries.

The report does not mention whether any of the other motorists were hurt in the crash.
