Palm Desert DUI Car Accident

PALM DESERT, California (July 27, 2017) —  A suspected DUI driver crashed into another vehicle Wednesday causing it to overturn on Monterey Avenue, just north of Country Club Drive, according to the Palm Desert Police Department.

The 2:27 p.m. crash was allegedly caused by Danny Gurule, 32, of Whitewater. He was driving a 2015 Hyundai Sonata when he slammed into the center median, lost control of the vehicle and struck a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck. The pickup flipped over and both drivers were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

DUI Driver Arrested for Monterey Ave Crash

Police say that Gurule was driving under the influence of alcohol and he was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio where he is facing felony DUI charges.

The Palm Desert Police Department is asking witnesses to contact them at 760-836-1600 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 760-341-STOP (7867).
