2 Killed, 1 Seriously Injured in Palm Desert Crash at Highway 111 and Fred Waring
PALM DESERT, CA (September 12, 2021) – A crash killed two people and seriously injured one person near Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive in Palm Desert.
According to The Desert Sun and KESQ News, the tragic accident took place on Sunday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 4:30 a.m.
The Riverside County Fire Department said two vehicles collided for an unknown reason in Palm Desert. They crashed near the intersection of Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive.
2 Vehicles Collide
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and then pronounced a 52-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy dead at the scene. A third patient sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel soon took the victim to the hospital for treatment. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officials forced area of Highway 111 and Fred Waring Drive to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Palm Desert crash is still under investigation.
