1 Killed, 1 Injured in Palm Desert Crash at Washington Street and Tucson Circle
PALM DESERT, CA (August 15, 2022) – A crash killed a motorcyclist and injured a driver at Washington Street and Tucson Circle in Palm Desert.
According to The Desert Sun and KESQ News, the tragic accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 8 a.m.
The incident happened when a 29-year-old man was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle south on Washington Street, approaching Tucson Circle, in Palm Desert.
He was traveling at a moderate rate of speed at the time. Deputies said a 2015 Jeep Cherokee approached and then pulled into the intersection.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
In the process, the two collided. The rider ended up ejected from his bike due to the impact of the collision and landed in the intersection.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and confirmed that the motorcyclist died as a result of the wreck. The driver of the Jeep survived the incident with minor injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Washington and Tucson to shut down for a time following the accident.
The cause of the fatal Palm Desert crash is still under investigation.
