PALM DESERT, California (December 4, 2015) — A hit-and-run driver in a small SUV was involved in an injury crash and then fled the scene at Varner Road and Washington Street near the Interstate 10 Freeway, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The suspect’s vehicle had a few stickers on the back window and windows were tinted on the sides and the back. Police say the suspect initially slowed down following the crash, but then kept driving. The vehicle may have been a small SUV such as a Ford Escape, police said.
Paramedics were at the scene to help at least one injured person, but there were no further details other than the fact that a longterm closure was needed at the intersection on Varner Road between Leopard and 38th streets.
A full investigation is underway and a report is pending.
