PALM DESERT, California (January 1, 2015) — A 57-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in a pedestrian accident at Highway 111 at Larkspur Lane, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
About 6:30 p.m., Palm Desert Police responded to the pedestrian accident where a man was struck by the driver of a westbound Toyota minivan. Paramedics transported the injured man to a local hospital where he later died at 7 p.m., the report said. The driver was not injured in the crash, but remained at the scene where they were interviewed by police. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
Police are heading up an investigation into the pedestrian accident to determine liability and are asking any witnesses to contact them at 760- 836-1600.
