PALM DESERT, California (Wednesday, August 26, 2015) – One party was trapped within an overturned vehicle, after a head-on two-car collision occurred on southbound State Route Highway 74, west of Cahuilla way, at mile marker 89, late this afternoon. The two involved vehicles, a grey Nissan sedan and a vehicle of unknown description, both overturned with one coming to rest on its roof. At least one person was trapped. Police blocked all lanes at the scene. An airship landed in a large dirt turnout nearby. The status of the injuries is not known at this time.
The accident occurred at about 4:57 p.m., according to a California Highway Patrol report. Police are investigating the incident to determine liability.
