PALM DESERT, California (July 22, 2014) – A motorist crashed into a stopped Sunline Transit SunBus late Monday morning injuring themselves and a bus passenger at the intersection of Fred Waring Drive and Warner Trail, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
Palm Desert Police officers responded to the collision about 11:30 am, the report said. The report said the SunBus was picking up passengers at the time of the crash. According to the report, the passenger vehicle suffered major damage, but the bus had minor damage.
Paramedics responded to the collision and transported the driver of the passenger vehicle to a local hospital where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. One passenger on the bus suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
Police are heading up an investigation into this accident and are asking witnesses to contact Deputy Conoway at the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at 760-836-1600.
