About 11:30 a.m., Palm Desert Police Department officers responded to a call about an injured bicyclist who had been hit by a driver at the intersection. CAL FIRE/Riverside Fire paramedics also responded and transported the injured woman to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where she was treated for major injuries and later died at 12:45 p.m. the same day.

Police say there were no alcohol or drugs involved as a factor in this crash. The closed down Mesa View Driver at Highway 74 for several hours to conduct a full investigation into the crash to determine liability.

“This is a tragedy for this woman’s family as they cope with her sudden loss,” said Attorney James Johnson.
