
Wrong-Way Driver Crash on I-10
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (June 20, 2023) — Two people suffered major injuries in a Palm Springs crash on the westbound Interstate 10 Freeway and State Route Highway 62 on Tuesday morning.
The collision occurred around 9:04 a.m. on June 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a man driving a white Chevrolet Camaro and a man driving a Chevrolet Cruze were involved.
The eastbound Chevrolet Cruze reportedly crashed head-on into the westbound Chevrolet Camaro. One of the vehicles became engulfed in flames, but the driver managed to get out of it. The fire spread onto nearby brush and burned roughly three acres.
CAL FIRE Riverside County Fire Department brought paramedics to the scene to help both men who were critically injured, the report said. Firefighters also extinguished the car and brush fires. They were transported to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. There were no passengers in either of the vehicles.
Investigators with the CHP are working on the case to determine fault for the crash.
