2 Women Injured in Accident at Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road
PALM SPRINGS (June 10, 2018) – Two were injured, one severely, after an alleged DUI collision in the area of Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road late Saturday night, according to The Desert Sun.
The accident involving two vehicles was reported just after 11 p.m. Gene Autry Trail is also known as Highway 111.
As per the article, Palm Springs police said for an unknown reason a Toyota SUV and a Volkswagen Jetta collided near the intersection Gene Autry Trail and Ramon Road. The SUV caught fire upon impact.
Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to the injured female drivers of the two vehicles involved.

The woman was found unconscious inside the Toyota and was pulled to safe a safe area. The other woman was extricated from the Jetta and was immediately taken to a local hospital with injuries considered as life-threatening.
Their names and condition at this time were not released. Meanwhile, police believed that drugs or alcohol played a role in the wreck.
The intersection was forced to shut down following the incident and was reopened the next day at about 5 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
