PALM SPRINGS (September 2, 2016)- According to the Desert Sun, an injury DUI crash involving two vehicles was reported Friday morning at the address of 300 East Palm Canyon Drive.
At precisely 2:09 a.m., two drivers identified as Max Contreras Ramirez, 26, of Indio, and Alonso Valencia Jr., 25, also of Indio, were speeding along Palm Canyon Drive. As they approached a curvature in the road both Ramirez and Valencia lost control and crashed their vehicles.
Per the Desert Sun, Ramirez, who had been driving a Chevy truck, struck a tree head-on while Valencia flipped is Nissan sedan over as it rolled over multiple times before coming to rest on its roof.
Both drivers had at least one passenger accompanying them, each who sustained injuries requiring transportation to separate hospitals. The injured victims are all expected to survive as their injuries were not life-threatening.
Palm Springs police officials arrested both Ramirez and Valencia on suspicion of driving under the influence.
