Man Killed in Palm Springs Hit-and-Run at Ramon Road and El Placer
PALM SPRINGS, CA (August 7, 2022) – A hit-and-run crash at Ramon Road and El Placer killed a pedestrian in Palm Springs.
According to the KESQ News and My News LA, the tragic accident took place late last month on July 29. Officers reported the collision at around 3:00 a.m.
Palm Springs police said a car struck a male pedestrian for an unknown reason in the city. The driver hit him at the intersection of Ramon Road and El Placer.
Driver Hits Pedestrian, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and soon found the man down on the ground. He sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed the victim to a hospital, where he died. His name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the man and fled westbound. They described the vehicle as a newer dark-colored Honda Civic.
Officers forced the area of Ramon and El Placer to shut down for a time following the incident. The fatal Palm Springs hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
