PALM SPRINGS, California (February 23, 2016) — Harry Pedersen, 79, of Leduc, Alberta was killed Monday night when he was struck by a car on East Palm Canyon Drive, according to a news release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash was reported at 6:56 p.m. as Pedersen was walking northbound to cross Palm Canyon Drive mid-block near Elmer’s Restaurant. The driver of a Toyota Camry was traveling westbound when he struck the Canadian man.
The pedestrian died of his injuries at the scene and the female driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Police are investigating the crash and will determine liability.
