At Least 1 Injured in Hit-and-Run Accident at Calle Encilia and Ramon Road

November 22, 2018 – At least one person was injured after a high-speed chase ended in a car crash at Calle Encilia and Ramon Road early Wednesday, according to ABC News.
As per the article, the incident began just after 3:30 a.m. when a Cathedral City police officer, who was in the area of Avenida La Paloma and Ramon Road, spotted people getting in and out of two vehicles that were in the middle of a road without their headlights on.
The officer reportedly tried to pull over the vehicles and one of the drivers fled at a high speed. A chase then ensued and lasted about four miles on westbound Ramon before the driver collided with an occupied vehicle at Calle Encilia.
Responding paramedics reportedly found the driver of the second vehicle trapped in the wreckage. That man was briefly extricated, and then taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The name of the victim have not been disclosed thus far.
Nicole Guzman and Manuel Montenegro Arrested After Palm Springs Car Crash
Meanwhile, officials identified 34-year-old Nicole Guzman and 20-year-old Manuel Montenegro as the suspects in the injury crash. Both parties were taken into custody and are awaiting charges of evading peace officer causing injury and gun charges.
