PALM SPRINGS, California (Sunday, October 18, 2015) – Erwin Monterossa, 22, had been driving his 2006 white Mazda pickup truck under the influence of alcohol when he struck Homayon Moaven, 58, killing him, at the intersection of East Tahquitz Canyon Way and Sunrise Way. Moaven had been driving a green Toyota Prius.
Monterossa was arrested after his release from the hospital, where he had been treated for minor injuries, according to Desert Sun News.
According to an incident report by the Palm Springs Police Department, the accident occurred this morning at about 1:52 a.m. Moaven died at the scene at about 2:16 a.m.
