PALM SPRINGS, California (October 2, 2015) — Jacob Lutzker, 27, of Morongo Valley was killed Wednesday afternoon in a motorcycle accident at the Intersection of Indian Canyon Drive and Rosa Parks Road, the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner said.
The crash took place about 2:18 p.m. when a driver in a pickup truck made a left-hand turn in front of Lutzker’s bike onto Rosa Parks Road. The bike collided with the pickup truck and Lutzker was gravely injured. The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.
Paramedics transported the injured man to Desert Regional Medical Center at 1150 North Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs where despite efforts by doctors he died and was pronounced dead at 3:01 p.m. the same day. The young man is survived by a wife and three young children.
“This is a tragedy for this man’s family as they cope with his sudden loss,” said Attorney James Johnson. “Drivers too often make turns in front of motorcycles whose drivers are unable to react quickly enough to avoid a crash.”
