PALM SPRINGS, California (October 6, 2016) – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Vista Chino and Via Miraleste Thursday afternoon, according to The Desert Sun.
The collision was reported about 1 p.m.
As per the article,Palm Springs police said a man was in the roadway when he was hit by a black Dodge sedan traveling eastbound on Vista Chino.
A statement released by Riverside County Coroner’s Office online affirmed that the victim was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center where he later died. He was identified as 64-year-old James Harper, of Palm Springs.
Meanwhile, the driver involved was cooperating with the authorities. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
