1 Badly Injured in Palmdale Car and Big Rig Crash on Avenue M
PALMDALE, CA (September 1, 2021) – A car crash killed a driver and badly injured another on Avenue M in Palmdale.
According to an article published by The Antelope Valley Times, the tragic accident occurred on Tuesday morning. Officers reported the wreck on August 31 at around 11:11 a.m.
The incident began when 44-year-old Tricone Raymond Sanford was driving a 1998 Chevy Suburban in the No. 3 lane of Avenue M in Palmdale.
For an unknown reason, the Lancaster man swerved into the No. 1 lane where he collided with a 2013 Ford Fiesta. Both cars then crossed into the westbound lanes upon impact.
Tricone Sanford, 44, Dead in Collision
The Palmdale Sheriff’s Station said in the process, a big rig carrying two trailers of hay slammed into the Chevy and the Ford. The vehicles crashed east of 30th Street East.
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and pronounced Tricone Sanford dead at the scene. The driver of the Fiesta sustained moderate injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel took the patient to the hospital for treatment. Deputies did not release the name of the wounded victim and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced a stretch of Avenue M to shut down for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Palmdale crash is still under investigation.
