1 Killed, 1 Injured in Palmdale Crash Near Sierra Highway and Avenue N
PALMDALE, CA (September 1, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured another near Sierra Highway and Avenue N in Palmdale.
According to the KTLA News and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at about 2:20 p.m.
The incident happened when a big rig and a dark-colored sedan collided for an unknown reason near the Palmdale Regional Airport.
Car and Big Rig Collide
The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the two crashed near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue N. The car ended up crushed beneath the semi-truck due to the impact of the collision.
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived and pronounced an occupant of the sedan dead at the scene. Another inidividual ended up hurt as a result of the incident.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, officers forced the area of Sierra Highway and Avenue N to shut down for a time following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Palmdale crash is still under investigation.
