PALMDALE, California (August 8, 2017) — A 53-year-old man identified as Rodolfo Hernandez was killed after being broadsided by a DUI following a collision at East Ave Q and 30th Street East, according to a report by the Palmdale Sheriff’s Department.

Police say the 26-year-old driver of a 2015 Ford Fusion drove through a stop sign about 8:36 p.m. and struck Hernandez’s 1999 Toyota Corolla, whose vehicle then careened into and struck a 2001 Toyota Highlander. Hernandez sadly died of his injuries.

The driver of the Ford was arrested on suspicion of DUI and is being held liable for the man’s death in the 3-vehicle crash.  There were no other injuries reported.

Those of us at Johnson Attorneys Group offer our sincere condolences to the family of the man who died.

Palmdale Car Accident Investigation

An investigation into what led to the crash and liability is underway by police investigators. As part of their investigation, police have already identified the at-fault driver who drove through a stop sign. This person was also found to be under the influence of alcohol.  They will piece together what happened and will determine any criminal charges. A person who is injured or a family who has lost a loved one may also want to pursue a civil case against the at-fault driver.
