Street Vendor Killed in Palmdale Pedestrian Crash at 25th Street and Avenue S
PALMDALE, CA (October 20, 2022) – A pedestrian crash at 25th Street East and Avenue S killed a street vendor in Palmdale.
According to The Antelope Valley Times and KTLA News, the tragic accident took place on Wednesday night. Officers reported the collision on October 19 at around 9:10 p.m.
The incident began when a vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed east on Avenue S, approaching 25th Street East in the city. At the same time, another car was stopped at a traffic light.
The speeding driver then slammed into the stopped vehicle. Both cars continued onto the Palmdale sidewalk where a male pedestrian was selling balloons.
Man Hit by Vehicles
Police said in the process, the motorists struck the street vendor standing in the area. The impact pushed one of the vehicles involved into a utility pole nearby.
The man in his 20s or 30s sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision. Paramedics rushed him to the Antelope Valley Hospital, where he soon died.
The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin. Medical personnel took the driver who caused the incident to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Officers forced the corner of 25th Street and Avenue S to shut down for a time following the collision. The cause of the fatal Palmdale pedestrian crash is still under investigation.
