5 Hurt When Driver Turns in Front of Police Vehicle
PALMDALE, Calif. (May 28, 2018) -Five people including two deputies were injured Sunday night in a collision between a civilian car and a police patrol car at East Avenue Q and Orchid View Place, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Palmdale Station.
The collision took place about 9:15 p.m. last night when the westbound passenger vehicle turned left in front of an eastbound patrol car at the intersection. A passenger who was in the right front seat was ejected from the passenger car during the crash. Paramedics responded to treat all five who suffered minor injuries in the crash. All five people were transported to a hospital for further evaluation. Police are investigating whether or not drugs and or alcohol were factors in the collision.
Palmdale Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this time, we do not know if the police patrol car was speeding or if it had its flashing lights and siren on or not. It’s unknown whether drugs and or alcohol were factors, nor whether or not a traffic violation led to the crash. A full investigation into the circumstances will ultimately determine who is at fault.
If a negligent driver or another entity is at fault for a collision resulting in injuries to you or a loved one, there may be grounds for a personal injury or wrongful death claim.
