PALO ALTO, California (March 17, 2017) – A bicyclist was seriously injured in an apparent hit-and-run crash on Homer Avenue Friday afternoon, according to The Mercury News.
Police said a Volkswagen Touareg struck a woman riding a bicycle on Homer Avenue. The cyclist was taken to the hospital with major injuries including broken bones.
The victim, whose name has not been yet released, was reportedly talking and is expected to survive
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the Volkwagen carrying five people was being chased by the authorities after refusing to pull over. An officer tried to stop the car for a vehicle code violation.
The Volkwagen was found abandoned on Ramona Street while two of its occupants were located on Forest Avenue. The three other suspects, one male and two females, were seen hiding in a shed in a backyard on Waverley Street.
