DUI Driver Fatally Hits Pedestrian Near River Road Saturday
Santa Rosa, CA (February 24, 2022) – Pankaj Gautam, a 37-year-old man, died following a pedestrian accident that occurred on Highway 101 on February 19, Saturday.
The Press Democrat News reported a Honda Pilot struck a male party walking on the highway in Santa Rosa. Officials said the horrible crash took place in the area near River Road.
According to the article published online, the collision resulted in fatal injuries to the pedestrian. The catastrophic incident took place shortly after 4 a.m.
Investigators mentioned the Honda driver showed signs of intoxication. Officers performed tests on the 29-year-old motorist and confirmed he was drunk at the time of the crash. Police then arrested the man on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
At this time, detectives continue to work to determine several unclear factors surrounding the deadly pedestrian accident on Highway 101 in Santa Rosa.
