1 Killed, 3 Injured in Paradise Head-On Crash on Neal Road
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (August 30, 2022) – A crash killed one person and injured several others on Neal Road in the Paradise area.
According to the Action News Now and ABC 7 News, the tragic accident took place on Tuesday evening. Officers reported the wreck at around 7:38 p.m.
The incident happened when a 47-year-old Chico man was riding a 2022 Harley Davidson north on Neal Road in the Paradise town of Butte County. At the same time, a 2021 BMW SUV was going south.
For an unknown reason, the rider then veered into the southbound lane. The California Highway Patrol said in the process, the motorcycle slammed head-on into the car.
Motorcycle and Car Collide
The two crashed just south of McCann Drive. Both the rider and an occupant of the BMW sustained major injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics rushed them to the Enloe Medical Center, where the motorcyclist died. Two other people riding the SUV survived the incident with minor injuries.
The names of the deceased and wounded parties have not been yet released. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Neal Road to shut down for about an hour and a half following the wreck.
The cause of the fatal Paradise crash is still under investigation.
