SAN JACINTO, California (October 28, 2014) – An unidentified man was killed Tuesday morning in a paragliding accident near 255 Soboba Road, according to a press release by the Riverside County Fire Department.
The fatal crash was reported about 10:15 a.m. in a remote mountainside area popular with paraglider enthusiasts, but also a location where others have died participating in the sport.
Indeed, a 52-year-old paraglider from Joshua Tree was also killed near this same location two years ago after striking a live power line and plunging roughly 60 feet to the ground.
There were also paragliders who took hard falls in this area and suffered major injuries in crashes in January 2013 and March 2012.
