Driver Jasmine Gamez Survives Accident
PARAMOUNT, California (September 24, 2016) – According to an article by Press Telegram, a 23-year-old female passenger died as a result of a solo-car crash on Long Beach (710) Freeway Friday early morning.
As per the article, a 2006 Scion driven by 22-year-old Jasmine Gamez was traveling on the northbound of the freeway at about 12:45 a.m. Suddenly, Gamez lost control of the car, veered off the road, and crashed into a raised gore point near the transition road to 105 freeway. The vehicle then flipped resulting in the female passenger ejected and thrown to the ground.
Responding paramedics located the passenger unresponsive, and later pronounced dead, at the scene due to her sustained injuries from the accident. The fatality’s name remain undisclosed as coroners continue to work on notifying next of kin.
Meanwhile, driver Gamez survived the crash with minor injuries. Gamez was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and transported to St. Francis Medical Center.
The area around the crash site was closed for at least four hours to give way to the investigation.
